Singapore’s oldest stockbroking company started out in 1873 as Fraser & Co. It was founded by John Fraser, who set up businesses in Singapore and Malaya, ranging from light commercial trades to heavy industrial production.
Fraser Securities Pte. Ltd. was then converted from a partnership into a corporate entity. The Company’s name was changed to Fraser Roach & Co. Pte. Ltd. and it became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Frasers International Pte. Ltd..
Arab-Malaysian Merchant Bank Berhad bought a 49% stake in Fraser International Pte. Ltd. (FIPL), thus making Arab-Malaysian Merchant Bank Berhad FIPL’s largest single shareholder. Following this, the Company was renamed Fraser Securities Pte. Ltd..
The Company’s name was changed to AmFraser Securities Pte. Ltd. after undergoing a change in ownership structure when Arab-Malaysian Merchant Bank Berhad bought the remaining 51% stake in FIPL, making Frasers Securities Pte. Ltd. a wholly-owned subsidiary.
KGI Securities Co. Ltd. (through KGI Asia (Holdings) Pte. Ltd.) successfully acquired 100% of AmFraser Securities on 31 January 2015 and renamed to KGI Fraser Securities Pte. Ltd.. It became a wholly-owned subsidiary of the KGI Group.
KGI Securities Co. Ltd (Taiwan)’s operations in Singapore, namely KGI Securities (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. (formerly called KGI Fraser Securities Pte. Ltd.) and KGI Futures (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. (formerly called KGI Ong Capital Pte. Ltd.) are amalgamated into a single entity with KGI Securities (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. as the operating entity. The amalgamation of the Singapore entities taps on the cooperative synergies of both companies and offer a one-stop service to our clients in Asia.
